Why is Outlook not working (not sending emails)?


Outlook is an email service that is part of the Microsoft office suite. The user can use it to combine multiple mailboxes. And sometimes you may find that emails cannot be received or sent.

The reasons for this situation may be:

1. Offline mode of operation. Outlook works both online and offline. However, in offline mode, you can only open emails that you have already received. You cannot send or accept a new email in this case. Therefore, the first step is to check whether the mail has Internet access. To do this, look at the bottom of the program window - is there an inscription “Offline operation"? If there is, go to the “Sending and Receiving” tab and disable this feature.


2.Changing the password on the website. If you have changed the password for your Outlook account in the browser version, do not forget to change it in the desktop client as well. To do this, go to the menu “File” → “Information” → “Account Settings". Next, you will need to select your mailbox, click “Edit” and set a new password.


3. Incorrect server settings. You can check the server settings in the same menu in the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server section.
